Elizabeth Lee Taylor, AKA Betsy Taylor, earned her BFA in Illustration from Rhode Island School of Design in 1974.
Born and raised in the Rochester, NY and Finger Lakes regions, her focus was primarily drawing and graphics, specializing in figures for commercial illustration.
With a group of professional artists Betsy helped form the Earth & Arts Center in a historic stone gristmill in her village of Honeoye Falls, NY. As it grew it reorganized as a non-profit Art Center, offering art classes with a fantastic gallery to help support and enrich it, becoming Mill Art Center & Gallery.
With her cohorts Betsy taught drawing and painting classes there, installed exhibits, sold her works and the art of hundreds of artists. She managed Mill Arts Center & Gallery for 18 years until she and her husband moved to MA.
Betsy serves Hull Artists on the Board of Directors; manning Gallery Nantasket; as Curator for Gallery Nantasket and Hull Artists’ outside venues; creating graphics for posters and ads.
You can find her paintings in Gallery Nantasket, the Hull Public Library and in Nantasket Beach Resort.
