SUMMARY:Imperfect by Christine Marohn at South Shore Conservatory
DESCRIPTION:  \nSSAC presents “imperfect”\, a solo show of Christine Marohn’s glorious work.  On view at the South Shore Conservatory\, July 1st through September 28th. \n  \nArtist Statement\nMy painting is a reflection of my efforts to make something beautiful from a chaotic\, confusing and often insecure 30 years as a military wife and stay at home mother. \nI use words layered with translucent color to symbolize the calls I have always heard to return to art; the imposed self-criticism for letting painting go for so long; the insecurity I feel returning to it.I want the viewer to see a beautiful painting but continue to look deeper – to really see how my work is composed through courses of words\, color and personal autobiography. \nMy life has had many layers – many good\, colorful layers and experiences that has made me into who I am today\, an artist returning to herself. \nAbout the artist\nChristine is an artist working in her chosen home of Duxbury\, Massachusetts. She is a life-long artist with a degree in graphic design and illustration who enjoys using her classical training to create paintings that push color and illuminate the subconscious. Christine considers herself one of the lucky ones – among her greatest joys is the love for her husband\, EJ\, her grown and accomplished daughters Meaghan and Lauren as well as her delightful Havanese\, Pippa. \nPlease find her work on Instagram @christinemarohn

SUMMARY:"Here Comes The Sun" by Rita Berkowitz
DESCRIPTION:Here Comes The Sun: Rita S. Berkowitz \n\nArtist Reception\nSATURDAY\, SEPTEMBER 6 1:00 – 3:00 PM Meeting Room\, Norwell Public Library 64 South Street\, Norwell MA\, 02061\n\nArtist Statement: \nEvery morning as the sun rises we are promised a new beginning. A time to rethink who we are and what we would like to achieve in our lives. It represents the Cycle of Life\, like a daily reincarnation. Ancient people thought of the sun as the source of life. The Mayan people thought the sunrise brings warmth into consciousness. \nBlessed with images of Scituate\, Massachusetts\, on the marsh\, to see the most beautiful sunrises to welcome in the day. No matter the weather\, the sunrise gives us a feeling that it is all okay and we can go forward to be who we truly want to be. \nThe poem\, “Paint Me a Sunrise\,” by Linda Harrison\, read at many memorial services\, from that moment forward Rita Berkowitz has been embracing the sunrise not only as a memorial but as a meditation to begin every day. We begin with the thoughts “How we can reinvent ourselves\, to become the people we really want t to be\, to decide who we are today and from this point forward.
