DESCRIPTION:True Grit Art Gallery is excited to announce Elements of Curiosity\, a solo exhibit by local abstract artist Kelly Russo\, running from April 12 to May 3\, 2025. Join us for an opening reception on Saturday\, April 12\, from 6-8pm at 38 Center St\, Middleboro\, Massachusetts\, where guests can meet Kelly\, enjoy adult refreshments\, and experience her vibrant\, thought-provoking work.\nKelly Russo\, a Scituate-based artist born and raised in the Boston area\, captures the dynamic balance of chaos and order in her abstract paintings. With a BFA and Masters in Art Education from Massachusetts College of Art\, Kelly is a Gallery Artist at South Shore Art Center\, a Juried Artist Member at The Copley Society of Art\, and a Signature Member of the National Association of Women Artists. Her work\, as she describes\, “organizes chaos\,” reflecting the joys and trials of life as a mom and artist navigating a complex world. Her bold shapes and fluid layers—conversations of color and space—reveal and conceal emotions\, mirroring the daily choices we make about what to show and what to hide.\nAt the opening reception\, attendees will have the chance to chat with Kelly about her creative process and the stories behind her pieces. Adult refreshments will be served\, creating a relaxed atmosphere to explore the exhibit and connect with Middleboro’s art community. DESCRIPTION:    True Grit Gallery is currently looking for poetry entries to be used as inspiration for a collaborative show featuring Visual and Literary Artists.  5 poems will be chosen from the submissions to inspire other artists to create a visual interpretations and be hung on display at the True Grit Gallery.  Listed below will be the information for this upcoming show from True Grit Galleries Website.\n  \n**CALL FOR POETRY** \nCalling all poets! We need your submissions for an upcoming art exhibition inspired by your poetry! \nTrue Grit Art Gallery will select 5 poems to prompt artists to create visual artworks inspired by them. Poets will be invited to read their chosen poems at the opening reception on Saturday\, September 14\, 2024 from 6- 8pm. \nSelected poems will be published on our website\, printed\, and exhibited with corresponding created artworks hung in our brick and mortar gallery for the length of this show. Poems can be in any traditional form or free verse. Vibrant imagery\, sensory language and strong metaphor will be some of the things we’ll look for to inspire artists in creating their visual works. \nPoems should be kept relatively short in order to be more easily displayed alongside exhibited artwork in this show. We ask that you structure your poem to fit on one page (letter 8.5” x 11”\, portrait) in 11pt Arial font (including title). We will likely be enlarging your poems when we print and exhibit them with accepted visual artworks. Submit your poem(s) in pdf format to truegritartgallery@gmail.com along with short bio and contact info. Submit up to 3 poems under the subject heading: Poetry Submission.
